I am the Technical and Operational Lead of BEWISe, an offsite wastewater treatment research facility developed in partnership with Northumbrian Water. BEWISe hosts world-leading large-scale pilot plants and provides a unique platform for innovative research in real-world conditions.

My role focuses on facilitating research and development projects by providing technical expertise and operational support. I work closely with a wide range of academic, commercial, and utility partners to ensure their work is successfully integrated into BEWISe’s infrastructure. As BEWISe is co-located on an active Northumbrian Water wastewater treatment site, I also serve as a key liaison with NWL personnel to coordinate activities and maintain operational harmony.

I have a strong passion for engineering and innovation. Being involved from concept through to construction and commissioning has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Collaborating with diverse partners has broadened my perspective on the many facets of wastewater engineering—particularly within a research context. BEWISe has empowered me to explore and implement my own ideas for system improvements, fostering both creativity and practical problem-solving.
