Dr. Changhyun Lim is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism at 麻豆传媒, affiliated with the Population Health Sciences Institute (PHSI) and the Human Nutrition and Exercise Research Centre (HNERC) within the Faculty of Medical Sciences. He earned his Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology from Korea National Sport University in South Korea and completed nearly 6 years of postdoctoral fellowship in the Protein Metabolism Research Lab at McMaster University, Canada.

Dr. Lim’s research investigates how skeletal muscle adapts to nutrition, physical (in)activity, ageing, and disease, and seek to uncover the cellular and molecular mechanisms that underpin these adaptations using cutting-edge techniques such as skeletal muscle biopsies, stable isotope tracers, and multi-omics approaches. The ultimate goal of his work is to promote health and enhance quality of life by optimizing skeletal muscle metabolism.

Recent research interests:

• Preservation of skeletal muscle mass during GLP-1RA-induced weight loss
• Preventing muscle loss and metabolic dysfunction during disuse or sarcopenia
• Investigating changes in skeletal muscle mass as a regulator of systemic metabolic health and developing novel strategies to enhance metabolic outcomes

Dr. Lim welcomes the opportunity to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as postdoctoral researchers interested in skeletal muscle, physical activity (e.g., exercise), inactivity (e.g., immobilisation, bed-rest), nutrition, and ageing.
