I am a Senior Lecturer in Cardiology at York University, and Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at James Cook University Hospital (heart failure and cardiac MRI).

My research interests are in population epidemiology, healthcare quality and reducing inequalities. I am a member of the Indicator Advisory Committee for the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and a member of Q (Health Foundation).

I am an experienced clinical educator. I hold an MSc in health professions education, and am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

I have experience of teaching and supervising students at Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral level.

I am interested in improving the quality of care and clinical outcomes for patients across the spectrum of cardiovascular disease.
