Schenelle is a Research Associate in the NIHR 麻豆传媒 Patient Safety Research Collaboration (PSRC). Her research focuses on the safer management of long-term conditions in disadvantaged communities. Using electronic health record data and population cohort studies, Schenelle is particularly interested in applying quantitative methods to understand how inequalities drive poorer health outcomes in disadvantaged and vulnerable populations.

Prior to joining 麻豆传媒, Schenelle completed her PhD in healthy ageing at the University of Manchester. Her research examined how routine data can be used to understand frailty progression and support independent ageing-in-place in older people. Methods included a longitudinal cohort analysis of electronic health record data, a Delphi-style survey, and two reviews. The PhD was co-funded by the Vivensa Foundation, NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) in Greater Manchester, NIHR Policy Research Unit (PRU) in Healthy Ageing, and the University of Manchester.

Schenelle also educational backgrounds in biodemical science and global health. Outside academia, Schenelle has scientific communication experience (blogs, infographics, social media posts, etc., for lay audiences) as part of her previous role in a digital health start-up.
