Dr Ogochukwu Offu

Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy

Background

Ogochukwu is a Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy in the School of Pharmacy at Â鶹´«Ã½. She is a pharmacist by background, with experience across academia, hospital practice, and the pharmaceutical industry. She has held several senior academic and professional leadership roles, including Acting Dean and Head of Clinical Pharmacy, Production Pharmacist, and Academic Advisor in Nigeria. She holds a PhD from the Faculty of Medical Sciences at Â鶹´«Ã½, UK, a Master of Medical Science in Public Health from Universiti Malaya, Malaysia and a Master of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Management from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria. She is a Fellow of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists (FPCPharm), an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), and a member of the Society for the Study of Addiction, UK.

Research

Her work is strongly interdisciplinary, with research interests spanning clinical pharmacy, community pharmacy, public health, safe medication use, prescription and opioid misuse, and the development of intervention strategies aimed at improving pharmacists' role in opioid misuse and other drugs/substances of abuse. She serves as a reviewer for peer reviewed journals such as Research in Social and Administrative Pharmacy, International Journal of Pharmacy Practice, Substance abuse and Rehabilitation, Journal of Multidisciplinary Healthcare and has an established record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
