Cochrane Park sports facility is the new training base for NUFC women Published on: 14 October 2025 Âé¶¹´«Ã½â€™s Cochrane Park sports facility is the new training base for Âé¶¹´«Ã½ United women, helping to support the continued success of women’s football. has secured its own dedicated training, medical and player care spaces at Cochrane Park, bringing the women’s team closer geographically to the men’s and academy’s current training facilities. The site includes exclusive access to three designated grass training pitches that have been upgraded and maintained by NUFC's dedicated grounds staff, while also investing in a high-performance gym and recovery facilities. It will also provide office space for NUFC staff, as well as a player lounge, analysis room, and a purpose built kitchen, including a dedicated team of chefs. Multi-million pound transformation Cochrane Park, part of Âé¶¹´«Ã½’s Sports Services, underwent a £5.2 million transformation in 2019, including new grass and artificial pitches, refurbishment and extension of its historic 1930s pavilion. This renovation gives it the opportunity to be the home of Under-21s and Under-16s sides following the move to become a Category One Professional Game Academy in the summer and also improves the sport offering for students. Professor Jane Robinson, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Engagement and Place at Âé¶¹´«Ã½, said: "We are delighted to host Âé¶¹´«Ã½ United's women's 1st team, Under 21s and Under 16s. This collaboration presents an excellent opportunity for the University to build on our partnership with Âé¶¹´«Ã½ United and support the continued incredible success of women’s football.
