DemaNDs Seminar - 8th June 2026

Dr Calum Hamilton (Â鶹´«Ã½) will present Neurodegenerative and non-degenerative mild cognitive impairment’ (abstract below).  Calum will present emerging research from his ARUK Research Fellowship examining the pathological basis of progressive and non-progressive MCI, role of modifiable lifestyle factors, and potential predictors of disease course.

Abstract:  Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) has been recognised as an early manifestation of developing neurodegenerative dementias such as Alzheimer's disease (MCI-AD), and dementia with Lewy bodies (MCI-LB). However, many individuals with MCI do not show any progressive worsening towards dementia, which may reflect individual differences in risk/protective factors and pathological severity, or the presence of non-degenerative MCI mimics.

Please note this week refreshments will be available in Great Gable meeting room (1.01, 1st Floor, Biomedical Research Building, CAV) from 12.00 with the seminar commencing at 12.30pm.  Microsoft Teams details are below, though we encourage everyone who can to join in person
