Storage Services
The Central Biobank, within the Medical School, offers a variety of storage solutions to ensure sample integrity
Storage services are available for both internal and external users. We keep all samples under the Human Tissue Act and Data Protection Act. We track all samples using Achiever Medical Systems sample tracking software. We are regularly audited to ensure we operate effectively and follow regulations.
All our equipment is serviced and well-maintained, with good health and safety procedures in place. Our facility can store samples at ambient temperatures, -20鈦癈, -80鈦癈 and -150鈦癈. Freezer units are all maintained under an annual service and maintenance contract, provided by a UKAS accredited engineer.
Storage quotes and agreements
To request an estimate for Biobank storage, please email biobank@newcastle.ac.uk with the following information:
- your details
- information about your project
- number of samples
- temperature requirements
Once completed by both parties, this form becomes our storage agreement.
