The Marine Technology Education Consortium (MTEC) programme is currently suspended until further notice, this means that we won’t be able to accept applications for this course. The programme will also remain suspended for 2027–2028 entry unless further direction is provided by the School.

Overview
Our MTEC course is delivered through a combination of:
- distance learning materials
- intensive schools
We have designed our Marine Technology MSc course for professionals employed by leading marine companies in the UK, such as:
- Babcock
- Lloyd's Register
- BMT
- BAE
This part-time program allows industry professionals to achieve qualifications without interrupting their careers. Our curriculum aligns with the needs of the marine industry, addressing real-world challenges and driving innovation.
Students often align their dissertation topics with their companies' projects. This creates a valuable synergy that benefits both the student and their employer. The program offers multiple specialisations or streams, such as:
- naval architecture
- marine engineering
- offshore renewable energy
- offshore engineering
